Getting to Haleh without Getting Naked

Yeah, it’s a pain in the ass – take off all your armor to avoid durability loss, run as fast as you can towards the portal, die, res, repeat. Sooner or later you’ll get to Haleh and you’ll have your Drakefire Amulet. Without a full group of 60’s, no other way, right?

Wrong. Despite Blizzard’s attempts to prevent an easier route (such as removing a mob you could autofollow through a tough part of mountain), there’s still a way to Haleh without the use of a portal – no nekkidness required. A simple step by step guide with screenshots shows you how.

I haven’t gotten far enough into the game for Haleh, but this sounds helpful.

A note: Durability loss upon death affects all equipment, both equipped and in inventory. Getting naked does not help at all.

doesn’t it get affected Less when it’s in your bag.

No. It is all affacted the exact same, because people would use this exact trick to remove the penalties for getting killed.

This must mean I’ve been the victim of a prank.

    I hope nobody took photos….

Stuff in your bag doesn’t get affected by you dying — it’s only affected when you ressurrect at the graveyard.

When you die in the field, it’s only that kit you have equipped that is damaged.

This has been fixed and is no longer possible.

    Damn you Blizzard…

Yeah, blizzard fixed this and other wall-climbing exploits a few patches ago by changing the game mechanics for movement when you walk horisontally along an incline you can’t climb. Before, you would be able to continue as long as you did not veer “upwards” the incline – now you fall down as soon as ou get onto the surface that is too steep for you to climb.

I’ve done this fairly recently; it’s easier with an epic mount, but I’ve done it with a regular mount as well. I’ll run up there some time in the next few days and check it out, but people were saying that you couldn’t do it due to patching when Seanpile & Kazpah from We Know showed me how to do it as well. As they explained, it takes “mad Super Mario skillz” and should not be attempted by amateurs.

Yes, a note: This trick worked as recently as the day after 1.10 released. Blizzard has fixed other tricks to prevent easy access to Haleh, but this one is still functional.

I’ll go back tonight and try and run it again, and get a picture.

No, Blizzard fixed it the easy way.

Look at the screenshot of this article.

Where the horse is standing and where the mousepointer is resting Blizzard put some sort
of “edgy cutouts” in the ground.

So its no longer possible to start the wallclimbing at all. I think even an epic mount wont help you there.

The next time im in WS i willt take a screenshot.
