So there I was outside Zul’Gurub….

I had parked my self outside the instance last night for our ZG run tonight. I logged in this evening and notice there is about 15 to 20 Alliance in the immediate area. I sat down and I see one Alliance flagged. I decided to flag up as well and then see if they attack me. I thought maybe they would leave me alone as I presented no threat to them and was not attacking anybody.

One paladin got right in front of me and started dancing and then laughed. I grinned at him. Shorly after that I was stunned by a Paladin. I’m not sure who did it but I sat down again. Shortly after that a Rogue sneaks up behind me and ambushes me. I got one Intimidating Shout off before the FIVE alliance killed me.

Way to go. You can kill me five vs one. You guys ROCK!!!!

I admit I don’t really understand the PVP mind at the best of times, I perfer PVE and the RP aspects of WOW. However what did you think would happen flagging yourself around 15 – 20 Horde? That’s like going over to Michael Jackson’s house for a sleep over and being surprised when he wants to do some bad touching (in 2006 not 1986 when it wasn’t known by everyone on the planet that he likes the young ones).

Maybe it’s not honourable or whatever, but given the storyline of the game that’s sort of what is realistically supposed to happen. Maybe it’s cheap, but how realistic was it to expect them to line up and attack you one at a time like Jackie Chan bad guys?

You find this alarming? KIDS play this game, or adults with low esteem who act like KIDS. This is why I don’t PvP except in battlegrounds.

That’s why I don’t play inside Battlegrounds. In there, you compete with a bunch of 12 year olds and unemployed former CompUSA workers. I’ll never get that much time to rank again.

Outside, all it takes is some good oldfashioned engineering, cool, and knowing your class, and those 12 year olds do die. Well, more often than they kill you, at least :)

No, I did not find it alarming. I was just relaying what happened. I knew they would probably attack but was curious, so put it to the test. :)

If you didn’t want to get ganked you shouldn’t have set your PVP flag ..

I often try to just maintain a level of friendliness with the opposing forces, but it seems to me that whenever that PVP flag is set its just an invitation to AssHat-ness.

While you may try to be an adult in the game, MOST aren’t.

Next time I guess you won’t set that flag will you?

Thank you Dave, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to be the one to say it. What did you expect flagging up — on purpose — in the middle of a group of Alliance players? That you’d get ganked so you could come post about it?

Gotta love those self-righteous Horde. ;)

Geez, Why the hate? I was just relaying a story of what happened. I was trying to make it an amusing story. I guess I missed on that part. Shanno, I KNEW they would probably attack. But I was bored and wanted to see what would happen. No biggie.

Why the hate? You flag and then complain about getting killed by five people. If it was “no biggie” you shouldn’t have posted “Way to go. You can kill me five vs one. You guys ROCK!!!”

I guess you did not see the part where I said I was trying to make an amusing post. Sheesh.

So you dressed yourself up a peice of meat, and got mad when the wolves tore you to shreds eh? I could have done without the self righteousness bit at the end though. It’s not as if the horde would do any different.

On a brighter note, you can do better than 5v1. The real goal here is as glorious a death as possible. Death by lowbie swarm is acceptable, as is jumping off a really really high place at the last minute to deny your enemies the satisfaction. Also ganking in capital city only to be savaged by the guards is quite the pastime. And you get bonus points since you can’t stealth =) Basically if you’re going to get yourself murdered (which was the only possible outcome of your scenario) it should be fun. This is a game afterall.

When did this site become the official WoW forums?

Today, didn’t you get the memo?

Anyway did anyone play the first Lesiure Suit Larry? Trust me this is going somewhere. I did, but at the time I was a kid and to play you had to answer all these questions that would apparently verrify your age. They’d be things about the Beatles or JFK, and if you got them right you’d get to play, and if not it would quit.

Anyway it would be nice if they had a few “adult” servers. Not like XXX servers, but ones with some sort of basic age verification that weeded out the young-ones. That way you could have a different experaince there. Have age appropriate servers just like they have PVP, Normal and RP.

Wow-way to hate on the poor guy!

I thought it was just a funny story, and it was-and I thought it was even better that typical Alliance would see one hordie getting beat on and try to join in, get the killing blow, and soak up some honor on an easy kill. ;)

Seriously though-it was a funny story, thank you for telling it, and sheesh, you really did bring out the emo, didn’t you? Christ, even I could tell you weren’t bitching, you were just amused. I would have been too. :)

“I decided to flag up as well and then see if they attack me.”

Come to the PVP servers, where Stranglethorn is always a massive warzone. None of this “you can’t attack me because I’m not flagged” bs. You need to watch your back all the time, and usually if you don’t roll with a group of at least 3, you don’t get out of Booty Bay/Gromgol.

Not to be harsh or anything, but unfortunately this post sounded way too much like the random “oh noes I went pvp and got killed by someone!” post on the WoW forums. And unfortunately, those forums tend to be a lesson in what not to do if you wanna write interesting stuff, more often than not.
