Let the nerf calls begin…

W00T! New talents and spells for the expansion have been annouced. The additions to to warlock afflictiion and demonlogy talents are very exciting, espcailly the the max talents of Unstable Affliction and Summon:Fel Guard. The destruction tree doesn’t really impress me.

The warlock class is my favorite, with mage running a (very) distant second. I enjoy everything about the class, and understand my role in the game- support, curses, DOT’s, crowd control, summoning, wipe insurance. My role is NOT to do major damage very quickly. For that, you need a mage. Why, oh why, then is there a a talent tree that basiclly make the warlock into a weak mage? I have never had much use for the Destruction talents while leveling. Now I find that in order to be viable in end-game content, I have to respecc. Resisting to pressure to go pure Conglaration, I will switch from Dark Pact to the old reliable, Shadow Mastery/Ruin. After all, an affliction specced warlock can’t kill a rat quickly.

With the expansion though, it looks like a warlock can stay to true to class and still be wanted in end-game. /cheer.

Also, check this new level 70 Affiction spell:
Seed of Corruption- Imbeds a demon seed in the enemy target, causing 1044 Shadow damage over 18 sec. When the target takes 1044 total damage, the seed will inflict 1110 to 1290 Shadow damage to all enemies within 15 yards of the target.

I think I had an evilgasm.

I agree with you, I personaly prefer affliction all around, and now with this new tree I can stick to it with the end game.

So 840dmg aoe with 2 sec stun is nothin to ya then eh? Dont forget about the pvp/raid aspect of 60% chance to go immune to fire/shadow when hit.

I still want Titan Hands for Arms Warrior (ability to wield a 2-handed Mace, Sword or Axe in one hand while at -20% damage.)

Dual wielding Arcanite Reapers owns all noobs and noobsauces alike.
