Like A Virgin

It’s great to find something that makes the game exciting in a different way, that makes you anxious to log in, that makes it all brand new. For me recently, that has been playing my baby Draenei priest. I’ve never played a healing class before, as I’m used to ranged and caster DPS classes. This has been a lot of fun…and do you know what? I wouldn’t mind making her my main someday.

I’ve sat and read books in between bouts of button-mashing in Naxx on my lock, enjoying the experience of raiding with my guild, but not nervous or challenged in any way. And then, this weekend I sat with pulse racing while trying to keep a party alive. The instance? Stockades. :)

What have you found recently that makes it all new and shiny for you? Was it discovering roleplaying, or PvP? Playing a new class? Playing Horde for a change, or Alliance?

Now, if I could just remember to heal the darned pets…

I can tell you, as a 70 hunter, that healers who actually recognize that pets are useful to the party and can be deserving of healing, are the best things in the world.

Nearly the same experience as you made. I also have a warlock as main, but have started a warrior now. It’s completely different from playing a ranged dps class and I find it kinda thrilling and challeging to keep the aggro against the typical I-don’t-care-about-aggro-so-give-me-full-dps mage.

So similar! I have a baby dranei mage which amped up the game in a few ways. I’m playing alliance for the first time so everything is new. Plus, I’m on a pvp server for the first time to see what it’s like. It’s made it a whole new game.

(Kudos to the priest who heals pets!)

I’m loving the expansion material, raising alts, playing Draenei, experiencing different classes, playing with the rep stuff in Outland… it’s all made the game new and fun again. That was overdue, I think.

One of my two mains is a priest. I do try to heal pets whenever possible, but they do have to take a back seat to keeping the party upright, so sometimes it doesn’t happen. Usually I’ll at least try to drop a renew on the pet in-between tank heals, and thankfully some of the spells like circle of healing, if I recall correctly, heal pets as well as PCs.
