Curse you Pally Bubble!

Timelost Lost by Coffin Comics

"Timelost Lost" - Coffin Comics

While checking out WoW.com yesterday I came across Coffin Comics’ “Timelost Lost” comic and had myself a good laugh, like I hope you will.

I then took the opportunity to participate in my first Wintergrasp on my finally level 78 druid. There is truly nothing more frustrating than dishing out some insane DPS and seeing “Immune” flash across your screen because some lame Paladin couldn’t take their beating like a real plate class. I mean, I only had 10 Tenacity. My Starfall wasn’t dishing out that much damage. Alright, so okay, I killed quite the handful of other people around, just not the Paladin.

I don’t hate Pallys, mind you. I want to level one at some point. Maybe. One day. I just wish I could stop them from using the omg-wtf-Pally-bubble. Just once.

Wow, good old Metblogs posting about Warcraft! For the record, I used to be a contributor (tok_matthew) and just saw that Metblogs was having financial trouble. Hope things turn out ok!

But, your title made me laugh and YES, Curse the Pally Bubble! I’ve been playing for 4 years and am an 80 Night Elf rogue. I don’t even try to kill pallys anymore because I hit them from behind, almost kill them, then they bubble, heal and proceed to annihilate me. They need to srsly nerf the Pallys on the next update.

Oh, tok_matthew, I agree with you. My personal opinion is that the timer on bubble should be much longer than it currently is. Use every 3 minutes or so? Ridiculous. Way back in the Everquest days the Paladin ability was able to be used once every half hour to an hour (I’m not clear as it’s been many years since I’ve played EQ). In EQ you couldn’t cast or be cast on, which should ring true here. Sure, they can use it ever 3 minutes, but they can’t heal themselves. It’s a “omg, get outta here” thing rather than a “Lookit me, I never die!” Ah well. Oh, but I have beefs with you rogues too, now that I think about it! :P Ha ha ha!

Howdy Lee! First of all, thanks for the bump! >D

I can see both sides of the argument really… I was a mage once and a hunter before that, and I know all about how frustrating it is to have to kill somebody twice!

As a pally main now, heh, I’m a bit reluctant to give up my beloved bubble… still… I can see in pvp how it still is a bit over powered. Heck, rogues and death knights have a mini “bubble”-like ability (kinda) but only lasts a few seconds and they aren’t 100% immune to everything.

Blizz, in one of its press releases a while back, said it would (or might) reduce the time bubbles stay up. Good news for everybody… except that it’ll probably kill off the ol bubblehearth. >(

It’s interesting how the classes gain power, get nerfed, only to make a comeback on successive updates. My rogue used to eat other classes alive but now Pallys and Warriors I can never kill. Hunttards also now jump away from me and then hit stun (I can still pwn them most of the time though). I try to vanish but the poison or whatever makes me visible again. sooooo, the only way I can get any kills is to ambush, stun, melee, stun again and make sure they can’t get away because if they do, I’m toast.

I like Lee’s comment “Look at me, I never die.” IT’S SOOO TRUE!!!

Anyway, I’m ready for that expansion so the field can be leveled again with new armor/characters. Wow has ceased to be as much fun as it used to. I want to explore some places that are not just new instances.
